That's where the second part of the program comes in. The second part of the program is the hands on learning internship.Īda Developers Academy is so dedicated to the employment and job placement of its students that it has partnered with a variety of companies to offer exclusive internships. Advocacy topics covered include diversity and inclusion training, racial causing, allyship training, advocacy work, leadership, and identifying microaggressions.Īt the end of 24 weeks of classroom instruction, students will create a capstone project which will showcase everything they have learned within the program and also act as a major piece of their portfolio. Software engineering concepts include pair programming, networking, agile practices, test-driven development, and career readiness. Prominent coding languages taught include Ruby and Ruby on Rails, HTML/CSS, Web APIs, JavaScript, and CS Fundamentals. The academy breaks down their education into three categories: writing code, software engineering, and advocacy. Moving on to full curriculum, Ada Developers Academy is dedicated to providing their students with the tools necessary to succeed as junior developers. Students who feel they need extra help with the Jump Start curriculum are invited to participate in Jump Start Live, which is an in-person classroom experience that takes place one month before the full program starts. This content covers the basics of coding and other foundational concepts that will be needed to begin your education starting day one of in class instruction. Before beginning the program, all students are asked to complete Ada Developers’ Jump Start curriculum.
